Passing of much-loved Castlebar woman Alish Fullard

Castlebar is mourning the passing of Alish Fullard (née Rodgers) Curry, Milebush, and late of Spencer Street, Castlebar.

A member of a much-loved and respected family, her death has evoked a huge sense of loss and sorrow in the community at large.

The deceased worked for many years at the County Clinic and Mayo VEC in Castlebar.

She was also a familiar, welcoming face behind the counter of her family's business, Gavin's Shop, at Spencer Street, alongside her brother Shane.

Those paying tribute to the Alish on social media since her death was announced are united in their view that she was a lovely lady with a kind word and a smile for everybody she met.

Predeceased by her parents, Alice and John Rodgers, she is deeply regretted by her heartbroken husband Frank, sons Coman, John and Paul, brothers Shane and Michael, daughters-in-law Niamh and Sarah, grandchildren Conor, Eamonn and Brendan, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

Reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with removal at 12.30 p.m. for Funeral Mass at 1 p.m., in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, followed by burial afterwards in the Old Cemetery.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
