Ireland ladies volleyball team hold training weekend in Mayo
The Irish ladies national volleyball team are holding their November training in Mayo for the first time this weekend.
They squad normally train in the National Indoor Arena, Dublin, but Ireland coach Mark Delahunty decided to move the training around the country more to help expose the sport better.
Therefore, this weekend the Ireland ladies are training in the sports hall of St. Louis Community School, Kiltimagh, which is also the home venue of the Mayo Volleyball Club.
St. Louis has excellent volleyball facilities and is one of few venues in Mayo that has international volleyball regulation standard courts.
The team along with their coaches are staying in the Cill Aodain Hotel, Kiltimagh.
Mikal O'Boyle of Mayo Volleyball Club is part of the Irish team and has recently been appointed vice-captain.
The team trained from 11.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. yesterday (Saturday) and again today (Sunday) from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
