Councillor seeking information on Mayo hospital issues

A Mayo member of the HSE West Forum is seeking information on a number of issues relating to Mayo University Hospital.

Councillor Michael Kilcoyne has submitted questions in respect of the Castlebar facility to the November meeting of the forum.

In his first question he asks why are there so many people on trolleys at Mayo University Hospital and how many routine procedures have been cancelled since January 1 2021.

"How many people have been waiting for appointments at Mayo University Hospital for up to one year, for one to two years, two to three years and for over three years?," his query added.

In another question, the Castlebar-based representative wants to know how many inquests were held in the past two years, regarding people who died at Mayo University Hospital, where the verdict returned was 'medical misadventure'.
