Bed shortages at Mayo University Hospital in focus today

Seventeen patients are on trolleys at Mayo University Hospital today because of a shortage of beds at the facility.

Eleven are in the emergency department and seven are in wards elsewhere.

Nationally, a total of 437 admitted patients are waiting for beds, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.

Of those, 346 patients are waiting in the emergency department while 91 are in wards.
