Mayo man is star player in Ireland's victory over the All Blacks

Caelan Doris, whose rugby career started with Ballina minis, was named man of the match as Ireland beat New Zealand this afternoon.

Doris scored one of Ireland's tries as they beat the All Black 29-20 in the Aviva Stadium, but it was his overall bustling display that earned him the star player accolade.

“It's such a special feeling having a full crowd here,” said Doris speaking pitchside to RTÉ Sport following the final whistle, adding that it was especially great to have his parents and friends from Mayo and Dublin in the stadium.

“You could hear the crowd throughout the game; they gave us such a lift throughout,” Doris said. “We've missed them for so long and it's such a special feeling having them back.”
