European award for Teagasc Mayo advisor

MARY Roache, from Teagasc Westport, recently received her full CECRA accreditation. Mary is only the third farm advisor in Europe to be awarded the European CECRA certificate.

Mary is pictured above with her certificate alongside Mark Gibson, head of outreach and innovation, Teagasc Athenry, and Vivian Silke, Teagasc Mayo regional manager.

CECRA (Certificate for European Consultants in Rural Areas) is a European soft skills training programme designed for agricultural advisers and consultants working with the farming community.

The aim of the programme is to create a standard within advisory skills across Europe and supports participants to improve their advisory and extension techniques.
