Sharp drop in Mayo's hospitalised Covid statistics

The number of Covid patients in care at Mayo University Hospital today is seven.

That's a drop of six since last Saturday, November 26, and is now one of the lowest in the country.

Two new cases were admitted to the Castlebar facility yesterday and there are two cases in the intensive care unit.

There are six vacant general beds at the centre and one ICU bed.

Nationally, there are 519 Covid cases hospitalised.

The statistics were recorded by the HSE at 8 p.m. yesterday.

The Mater Hospital, Dublin, has the highest number with 48.

Galway University Hospital has 18 and Sligo University Hospital has 10.
