Funeral of Mayo farmer who died tragically
The funeral takes place this evening (Wednesday) and tomorrow of the 77-year-old Mayo farmer who died tragically on his farm last Saturday.
Patrick (Paddy) Geraghty, Mullaghroe North, Clogher, Belmullet, died from injuries sustained when a newly-calved cow charged at him.
He is fondly remembered by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ellie (née Gaughan), his son P.J. and daughter Annette, daughter-in-law Amanda, son-in-law Patrick Lally, adored grandchildren Ciara, Mary Ellen, Luke and Conor, sisters Mary Ruddy (Crossmolina), Ann Holahan (St. Albans, England), Rose Wilson (Emlycass, Belmullet) and Margaret Sweeney (Attycunnane, Belmullet), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, wonderful neighbours and many friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.
He was predeceased by his parents Patsy and Margaret, brothers Harry, John, Michael and infant brother Stephen.
His remains will repose at McDonnell’s Funeral Home, Belmullet, this evening (Wednesday) from 5 until 7 p.m. with funeral arriving at St. Brendan’s Church, Tiranne, at 8.30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday at 1 p.m, followed by burial in Faulmore Cemetery.
