Potholes back in the headlines in Mayo

Potholes are back in the headlines in Mayo.

A number located near where road works are taking place on the new N5 dual carriageway intersection at Windsor, Castlebar, are causing motorists many problems.

The matter has been highlighted by local Councillor Ger Deere.

He has published a number of images on his Facebook page showing the extent of damage caused to vehicles at the location.

He said: "Several drivers have had bad experiences at the location and they have been in touch with me.

"This situation can't continue because a serious accident is waiting to happen.

"There should be daily inspections at this location until works are complete to make sure that it is always safe for all road users," he added.
