Concern over section of Mayo business park left in darkness

AN elected member of Mayo County Council has raised concerns that a section of the Breaffy Road Business Park in Castlebar is in complete darkness at night.

Councillor Cyril Burke stated three public lights along the road through the park are no longer working.

“I have received a lot of complaints from motorists who are finding it very dangerous at one particular bend in the road which has become totally blind due to the bad light.

“The owners of the park should take action,” he said.

Ann Sweeney, senior road engineer with Castlebar Municipal Dustrict, said the park has not been taken over by the council and the responsibility rested with the owners of the site.
