Details announced for 2022 Mayo Football League season

The Mayo Football League have announced that the 2022 season will commence on Sunday, March 6 with the Super League and Premier League.

Those two divisions will revert to the old format i.e. 18 rounds of matches, as opposed to this season split format, with the table broken into two groups of five after every team had played each other once.

League One, Two and Three will commence on either March 13 or March 20 depending on number of teams entered.

The divisional cups and Under 21 league are expected to commence in mid season and the Calor Gas Cups will take place at the end of the season.

The Under 21 league will be played similar to all other leagues (no semi-finals and final), and there also be an Under 21 cup competition for the first time.

The Calor Gas Super Cup will involve the top 16 teams as per this years final tables, the Premier Cup for all remaining teams.

Entry forms for clubs are expected to be sent out early in the new year and are to be returned by January 31, 2022.
