Charlie launching Croagh Patrick climb on Late Late Show
CHARLIE Bird will be back in the RTÉ studios for this week's Late Late Show to launch the inaugural Climb with Charlie event.
In his recent interview with Ryan Tubridy about his Motor Neuron Disease diagnosis, Charlie spoke of his wish to climb Croagh Patrick. And he's had no shortage of volunteers willing to make the climb with him ever since.
The climb will take place on April 2 and Charlie, along with Vicky Phelan, hopes to inspire thousands of Irish people to climb Croagh Patrick and other peaks around the country (and across the world) on that date.
Full details about how you can get ready for the challenge in the 12 weeks between now and then and how to register for the Croagh Patrick event will be unveiled on the show this Friday night.
Charlie and Vicky will be joined by Mary McAleese, Davy Fitzgerald, Baz Ashmawy, Joanna Donnelly, Dr. Harry Barry, Dermot Bannon, Karl Henry and many more who are throwing their full support behind the epic climb.
This week's show will have a real west Mayo feel about it as it also features the Clew Bay Pipe Band, who will opening the first Late Late Show of 2022 - their first live performance in 18 months.
