Death of former Castlebar Bacon Factory staff member Annie Mary Concannon

The death has occurred at Mayo University Hospital of Annie Mary (Nancy) Concannon, Carramore, Clogher, Claremorris and formerly of Keelcoil, Breaffy, Castlebar.

A much-loved and respected personality, she was a former Castlebar Bacon Factory staff member.

News of her passing has evoked an immense sense of loss in the community.

Nancy was born in Keelcoil, Breaffy, Castlebar and she moved to Carramore, Clogher over 60 years ago following her marriage to her beloved Christopher where they reared their family of seven sons. Nancy had worked in the Castlebar Bacon Factory in her youth where she made many life long friends.

She had lots of friends throughout her life and she loved playing bingo and also listening to music. Midwest Radio was her favourite radio station.

She particularly enjoyed the fun and craic with the local Active Retirement Group and especially the regular outings to different parts of the country.

She took a keen interest and enjoyed watching snooker on the television. She also spent many happy hours in her garden tending to her flowers and plants.

Predeceased by her parents and her sister Kate Lally, Breaffy Lodge, Breaffy, Castlebar. Dearly loved wife of Christopher and loving mother of Michael (Keelogues, Ballyvary, Castlebar), John (Cummer, Rehins, Castlebar), Tommie (Carramore, Clogher, Claremorris), Bernard (Turlough Road, Castlebar), Noel (Carramore, Clogher, Claremorris), Gerard (Horsepark, Westport Road, Castlebar) and Fintan (Belcarra, Castlebar).

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, her sons, sisters Pat Neary (Liverpool) and Bridie O'Sullivan (London), daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law Tony (New York), sister-in-law Sheila (U.K), cousins, relatives and many friends.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
