Passing of much-loved Castlebar personality Mickey Fallon

The death has occurred of Mickey (Michael) Fallon, Father Meehan Place, Castlebar.

He died peacefully at his home earlier today surrounded by his loving family.

The news has evoked a huge sense of loss in the town where he was held in high regard.

A member of an old and respected local family, Mickey was a true gentleman, always a pleasure to meet.

He was a former staff member of Castlebar Bacon Factory, a place where he made many lifelong friends.

Mickey was a familiar face at Celtic Park over the years, a loyal supporter of Castlebar Celtic FC.

Predeceased by his parents Pake and Kate, his brother Pa and sister Kathleen, he is deeply regretted by his loving wife Anne, daughters Mary King (Castlebar), Caroline Quinn (Castlebar), Teresa Fallon ( Castlebar), and Fiona Fahy (Westport), son Tony (Castlebar), brother Sean, sisters May Heenan, Brid Griffin (Chicago) and Joan Redmond (Castlebar), sons-in-law Michael King, Brendan Burke and Adrian Fahy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Stephen, Alan, Lorcan, Kevin, Chloe, Aoife, Conor, Kristian, Órlaith, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

Remains reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home on Friday morning at 10 a.m. with removal at 11.15 (via Father Meehan Place and McHale Road) for Funeral Mass at 12 noon in the Church of The Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Mickey will be laid to rest afterwards in Old Cemetery, Castlebar.
