Mayo Football League issues revised fixture list

The Mayo Football League has issued a revised fixture list following the postponement of games at the start of the year.

The Westaro Masters League gets the ball rolling next Wednesday and Thursday (January 26 and 27) with fixtures that had originally been scheduled for January 5 and 6 respectively.

Looking ahead, the TF Royal Hotel & Theatre Under 21 Division 1 final is scheduled for February 6, the FAI Junior Cup round five, with Ballyheane and Westport United still involved, is to take place on February 13 and the Calor Gas Super Cup final, between Ballyheane and Westport United, is fixed for February 20.

Ballyheane are also involved in the Under 21 final, in which they face Conn Rangers, and in the Westaro Super Cup final against Ballina Town, which has been provisionally re-fixed for March 6, although round six of the FAI Junior Cup is scheduled for that weekend too.

That leads into the 2022 Mayo Football League season, which will now commence for all divisions on March 13.

The divisional cups and Under 21 league will be scheduled in mid-season, while the Calor Gas Cups will be played at the end of the season. As before, the Calor Gas Super Cup will involve the top 16 teams as per this year's final tables, with the Premier Cup to be contested by all remaining teams.

The Under 21 league will be played similar to all other leagues (i.e. no semi-finals and final), and there will be an Under 21 cup competition as well.
