Mitchels team named for the All-Ireland intermediate final

The Castlebar Mitchels team for Sunday's currentaccount.ie All-Ireland intermediate club final shows one change in personnel from the semi-final thriller against Kerry’s Castleisland Desmonds.

Sarah Prendergast is handed a start for the game against St. Sylvester's, with Sarah Conlon dropping to the bench.

Mitchels are aiming to become the very first Mayo winners of this competition while their Dubliners are hoping to emulate the feat of Clontarf (2018) by bringing the trophy to the capital.

Dublin stars Sinéad Aherne, Nicole Owens and Kate Sullivan have been named in an unchanged St Sylvester’s team for the final, which will be played in Duggan Park, Ballinasloe (throw-in 1.30 p.m.).

Dublin skipper Aherne bagged 2-5 in St. Sylvester's comfortable semi-final victory over Fermanagh outfit Kinawley.

However, Mitchels have Mayo senior players Orla Conlon, Danielle Caldwell and Kathryn Sullivan in their ranks, and have been in fine form in their run to the final.

Both teams are first-time finalists and this is set up for a potential cracker in Ballinasloe.

Supporters who cannot make it to Ballinasloe can watch the game live and for free on the LGFA’s Facebook page: https://fb.me/e/1sMoZBXbi.

The Mitchels team in full is: F. McLoughlin; K. Moore, A. Brody, A. Towey; T. Flynn, O. Conlon, D. Caldwell; L. McManamon (captain), K. Sullivan; G. Flynn, A. Tuohy, E. Lyons; N. Hughes, L. Brody, S. Prendergast.

St. Sylvester’s line up as follows: S. Brennan; C. Fitzpatrick, K. White, L. Harrold; L. Murphy, D. Lawless (captain), E. Lynch; N. Owens, G. Twomey; K. Sullivan, E. Sullivan, N. Harney; S. McGlynn, S. Aherne, L. Ryan.
