Mayo theatre cancels performance by The Royal Moscow Ballet
The TF Royal Theatre in Castlebar has said today that as it stands firmly in solidarity with the people and nation of Ukraine, it is with regret to patrons and artists that the decision has been taken to cancel the forthcoming performance of Swan Lake by The Royal Moscow Ballet, which was due to take place this Friday, March 4.
The Royal Moscow Ballet have been touring Ireland annually for over 10 years and have always been a firm favourite with the Castlebar audience.
The company is made up of many different nationalities - Russian, Ukranian, Belarussians, Uzbeks, Japanese, Irish and Polish cast and crew, who have travelled, worked and lived together for many years.
In a statement, the TF Royal Theatre said: “We hope for diplomatic, rapid and peaceful resolution to this tragic turn of events. We regret any disappointment to our patrons."
Patrons are advised that full refunds will be available from the point of purchase.
