Tánaiste to announce €4m. investment in Mayo digital technology firm
A €4 million investment in a leading Mayo digital technology firm is set to be unveiled, The Connaught Telegraph can confirm.
The major announcement in respect of Castlebar firm, Multi-Color Corporation (MCC), will be made on Friday by Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar.
He is visiting the county town for a number of engagements and meetings.
Located at Breaffy Road Business Park in the county town, the investment in MCC will result in 30 new jobs at the facility.
The state-of-the-art Castlebar plant is part of one of the largest label solutions providers in the world serving a wide range of markets locally, nationally and internationally.
Founded in 1916, Multi-Color Corporation has grown to become one of the globe's largest and most awarded label printers, supporting many prominent brands
It established a presence in Ireland when it acquired the former Cashin Print Services in Castlebar a number of years ago and has grown significantly since.
Local TD Alan Dillon described the investment as a major vote of confidence in the county as it emerges from the Covid-19 pandemic.
He stated:“The multi-national firm has created very strong business connections across the region due to its high skillset and professionalism.
“It is significant that An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has chosen to make the formal announcement in conjunction with the company. It's a very good news story.
“There are hopes of other investments being rolled out at other Mayo firms as we put the business challenges imposed by Covid-19 firmly behind us.”
During his visit, An Tánaiste will launch the West Regional Enterprise Plan. By 2024 the plan will have developed a suite of ‘marketing collateral’ for the west region and use them to promote the area as a location of choice for investment.
It will also further position the region as an exemplar in guiding and supporting digital transition for enterprise.
