Mayo store celebrates selling €1 million Lotto ticket

A DAILY Million player in Westport has become the 12th National Lottery millionaire of 2022 after scooping the top prize of €1 million last Tuesday’s (March 1) 2 p.m. draw.

The winning quick pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at the Corrib Oil Spar store on the Castlebar Road in Westport.

Store manager Kevin Heffernan was delighted to hear that one of his customers had became a millionaire, saying: “There’s a real buzz around the store following the news that we sold a ticket worth €1 million, not just amongst our customers but the staff as well.

“This is the biggest prize that we have ever sold so we’re sure that our regulars will be delighted to see that.

“Being located on the busy Castlebar Road here, we have quite a lot of customers who are passing through the area as well as locals from nearby. We heard that the lucky winner has come forward which is great to hear. We wish them all the very best with their big win.”

The National Lottery has confirmed that the winner has come forward and arrangements are being made for them to claim their life-altering prize.
