MCC announces 30 new jobs and €4m. investment in Mayo plant

The Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar, is visiting Mayo today for a number of engagements including the unveiling of 30 high-quality new jobs and a significant investment of €4 million in Multi-Colour Corporation (MCC), located at Breaffy Road Retail Park in Castlebar.

MCC is the world’s largest premium label and packaging supplier with over 13,000 employees and 102 sites in 26 countries.

MCC Castlebar is one of three sites in Ireland employing almost 300 people.

The company is actively recruiting for the new positions which are mainly connected to the acquisition of cutting-edge digital technology.

Local TD Alan Dillon said: “After two tough years during the pandemic, the importance of this type of good news cannot be underestimated.

"With 30 new jobs and a multi-million-euro investment in digital technology at Multi-Color Corporation Castlebar, it is a resounding vote of confidence in the future operations here in Mayo.

"It is a testament to the hard-working and professional team at MCC and I hope this is the start of a next chapter on the growth of this company.

"I know John Fennessy, as general manager, and his management team will ensure the company continues to put the best foot forward in terms of continued growth and expansion.”

MCC Castlebar specialises in print for the healthcare industry with 97% of its business in that area and is a preferred supplier for multi-nationals in the pharma/medical device sector.

Their main products are multiple formats for Instructions For Use (IFU) including, folded inserts, outserts, patient information pads, log books and bound booklets. It was previously Cashin Print and was taken over by MCC in 2016.
