Passing of former Mayo travel agent and publican John Feerick

The death has occurred at his residence of John Feerick, Carnalecka (formerly Abbey Street), Ballinrobe.

John was well known and respected in the Mayo business community from his travel agency business, John Feerick Travel, and he also had a pub, The Abbey Bar, in Ballinrobe.

He was a keen horseman and had a great interest in local history.

John is sadly missed by his loving wife Angeline (Angel), daughters Mary, Norah and Emer, sons James and John, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Tom, sisters Mary and Ann, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

He was predeceased by his sisters Cecily and Bidgin, and brothers Emmet and Michael.

Reposing at his home this evening (Wednesday) from 5 to 7 p.m.

Requiem Mass takes place at 12 noon on Thursday at St. Mary's Church, Ballinrobe, with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Ballinrobe.
