Mayo boss declines to speak to media in solidarity with GPA dispute

Mayo manager James Horan declined to speak to the media before or after the last night's Allianz National Football League defeat to Kerry in Tralee.

He took his action in solidarity with the Gaelic Players Association (GPA) who are in dispute with Croke Park authorities over players’ expenses.

A statement earlier this week by the GPA outline that "until every player is paid their expenses for all collective sessions, there will be action by players in response."

In recognition of the financial impact of Covid on the GAA, a reduction in mileage rates from 65 to 50 cents had been agreed by the GPA.
