Five arrests in connection with public order incident in south Mayo

GARDAÍ have today arrested five people in relation to a public order incident which occurred in the Dalton Street area of Claremorris in the early hours of Sunday, February 6.

Claremorris Community Engagement gardaí supported by detectives from Mayo Crime and Western Region Armed Support Unit conducted searches under warrant at a number of addresses in Claremorris and Ballinrobe this morning (Tuesday).

Four adult males (aged 20s, teens) and one juvenile male teen were arrested and are all currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a number of garda stations in the Mayo region.

Claremorris gardaí continue their appeal for any witnesses to this incident in the Dalton Street area between 2.40 a.m. and 3 a.m. to come forward.
