Mayo GAA club investing in new spectator stands

CASTLEBAR Mitchels are adding to their facilities at An Sportlann.

Two new spectator stands are in the pipeline.

An application for planning permission for the shelters has been submitted to Mayo County Council.

The two spectator shelters are for playing pitch no. 1 and no. 2, with the first shelter to be constructed using a steel framed covered structure/canopy that will be located between pitch 1 and pitch 2.

Shelter 2 is also a steel framed covered structure along the boundary wall that will serve pitch 1 and will include stepped spectator seating.

The grounds in question are known as Josie Munnelly Park, to the rear of MacHale Park.
