The day Charlie Bird climbed Croagh Patrick and raised over €2m. for charity

The day former RTÉ journalist Charlie Bird climbed Croagh Patrick and raised over €2.1 million for charity will linger long in the memory.

All those who joined him in the challenge at the Reek last Saturday found the experience uplifting and enriching.

The Connaught Telegraph has put together a video of the occasion with the help of wonderful footage by Henry McGlade of iTV Mayo and Paul Roddy, one of over 20,000 people who joined Charlie on the climb.

We hope you enjoy it.

* All funds raised in the event are in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Pieta and Charlie is very appreciative of such generous support.
