It is a very significant investment in our marine infrastructure and includes projects throughout the county.

“Roigh Pier is allocated total funding of €400,000 for structural strengthening works; Killala Harbour is allocated €150,000 for the installation of a floating pontoon and repairs to the harbour deck; Rosmoney Pier is also allocated €150,000 for slipway refurbishment; Ballina Quay is allocated €100,000 for the extension of the pontoon; Curran Pier will have a €150,000 investment in repair and refurbishment works; Blacksod Harbour is allocated €70,000 for repairs and upgrading of lighting and €50,000 is allocated to Ballyglass Pier for support column repairs.”

Added Deputy Calleary: “I am very happy that our marine communities are being supported with this investment.

“I congratulate the local authority for the input into the application process and thank the locally elected representatives who have worked with me in successfully lobbying on behalf of these projects which will add greatly to each specific harbour and pier.”
