Mayo business closure is a shoppers' reality check

IT is depressing to see businesses close in any town or village.

A games shop which had been operating on Main Street, Castlebar, for a number of years is now closing.

Buying online appears to be an ever-increasing trend.

By using this system shoppers are damaging businesses in their local communities and helping to lose jobs. They should keep this in mind.

Galway City appears to be getting all the jobs coming to the west of Ireland.

Many people from Mayo travel up and down to Galway each day to their place of work.

With the price of petrol and diesel gone sky-high this is a very expensive two-way trip.

The Industrial Development Authority might take note of this.

That is, if they are aware there is a county in the west of Ireland called Mayo.

Wake up and smell the fresh air in the west of Ireland!

It’s refreshing and relaxing.

West is truly the best.
