South Mayo community mourns passing of popular personality

The death of Meredith Lulling, also known as Mer, Dalgan Demesne, Shrule, is deeply mourned in the community.

In his 40s, the deceased, formerly of Muckross, Killarney, Co. Kerry, was held in high regard in Shrule and was involved as an underage coach with Moy Villa Football Club.

He is deeply regretted by his beloved wife Tricia (née Geraghty), daughter Alannah, sons Micheál and Nicholas, mother Maureen (Rathgar and Muckross), brother Stuart and partner Jessica (Canada), grandfather Michael O'Connor (Muckross), grand-aunt Astrid Lulling (Luxembourg), father-in-law and mother-in-law Pat and Mary Geraghty (Shrule), sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

Meredith was predeceased by his father Fernand Lulling (Luxembourg).

Meredith will repose at his home on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. for family and close friends.

Removal from his home on Thursday morning to arrive at St. Joseph's Church, Shrule, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon.

Interment takes place afterwards in Shrule Cemetery.

Many warm tributes have been paid to him on the condolences page of the death notice website, RIP.ie.

"Meredith was a very intelligent and professional person," one tribute stated.

Another said: "Mer was such a kind gentleman and will be missed deeply."
