Plans for Mayo green hydrogen production facility progressing

Plans for a green hydrogen production facility in Mayo are progressing.

Constant Energy intends to apply to Mayo County Council for planning permission for the plant in the Erris townlands of Croaghaun West, Srahnakilly and Bellacorrick.

The development will consist of a single-storey process building, 16 fin fan coolers, a hydrogen storage area of 4,650 square metres and gas injection compound.

Included in the proposal are substation buildings, water and fire water storage tanks, pump house, internation road access, replacement bridge and associated grid connection works.

Twelve car parking spaces will be provided along with footpaths and landscaping.

An environmental impact assessment report and natura impact statement have been prepared as part of the application.
