New bridge on Mayo greenway due to open this week

A NEW bridge on the greenway at Turlough is scheduled to open this week.

Located in the townlands of Turlough and Gortnafolla, the development will provide an alternative safe access route for greenway users to Turlough village and for the local community who wish to use the greenway.

A report issued to Castlebar Municipal District councillors ahead of their monthly meeting this week said it is anticipated that the pedestrian bridge and the access path to the village will be open to the public on May 25 (Wednesday).
