One man who was delighted to sit in the sunshine at the Markets Field in Limerick on Saturday evening last was Michael McGrath from Charlestown.

He made the drive to the Limerick venue to support his grand daughter who featured in the starting 11 for Sligo Rovers in the Women's National League against hosts Treaty United

His grand daughter is Jessica Casey, also from Charlestown, and the teenager joined the senior squad this year having played under-age for the Bit O'Red.

"I enjoy going to the games and it's even better when Jessica gets to play." he said.

Jessica had a fine game in the Sligo Rovers defence in a 0-0 draw and her display was highlighted by manager Steve Feeney, who was impressed with her contribution.
