Success on the treble for leading Mayo restaurant

A Mayo restaurant has captured three prestigious awards at the annual Yes Chef Awards.

The Dining Room, Bridge Street, Castlebar, was named Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year in Connacht at the event.

Restaurant proprietor Kevin Stirzaker picked up the accolade as Chef of the Year in Connacht.

And the Dining Room was presented, too, with the 'Irish Culinary Experience of the Year' prize.

In a memorable night of celebration for the business, it had also been nominated for the Front of House Team of the Year award.

Stated Kevin: "Castlebar has become one of Mayo’s premiere dining locations and at it's hearts is our seasonally inspired evening restaurant, Dining Room."

Local Councillor Ger Deere praised the success of the Dining Room and said it is also a tremendous boost for Castlebar.
