Foxford celebrates 130th anniversary

IRISH heritage lifestyle brand Foxford celebrates 130 years in business this year.

Foxford is renowned for iconic throws and blankets and today features an extensive lifestyle and homeware offering including bedlinen.

For generations Foxford has been a coveted gift, with homes throughout Ireland cherishing the handcrafted products.

To celebrate Foxford’s 130th anniversary, the team has reworked the traditional pink and blue stripe blanket to create the Nostalgia collection featuring classic herringbone weave throws in noble lambswool and cashmere blends.

The woollen mills in Foxford are fully operational today with over 160,000 visitors annually experiencing the energy of the Foxford legacy. All throws and blankets continue to be made on the looms on site with up to 500 items being produced daily.

Foxford retails internationally on Foxford.com with two physical stores in Foxford and Westport, and a concession in Arnotts.

In 2001 the team collaborated with designer Helen McAlinden to innovate and introduce a concept of the ‘wardrobe for your bed’, creating a range of bed linen to complement the colour story of the Foxford blanket collection.

This year, building on the success of its café, the company is building a 600 m2 artisan production kitchen to produce a range of preserves to include jams, chutneys and salad dressing.

Managing director Joe Queenan commented: “We are extremely proud to celebrate the 130th anniversary of Foxford this year.

“Foxford is an iconic Irish brand, steeped in history, filled with nostalgia in the heirlooms and memories of homes throughout Ireland. Our customers appreciate the heritage of the brand, the craftmanship of our products and the timeless quality of our collections.

“At Foxford, we are constantly innovating yet staying close to our core values; supporting local suppliers and industry, while creating new concepts to interest and engage our community of customers.”
