Burst watermain on outskirts of Castlebar

CREWS are on site in Castlebar this morning repairing a burst watermain on the outskirts of the town.

Irish Water and Mayo County Council are working to restore the water to 40 properties in the Moneen area.

Repairs are expected to be complete by 4 p.m. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Said Ger Greally, Irish Water: “The repairs are being conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the community and restore water for all customers.

“We understand a number of businesses are among those affected and we appreciate the patience of all our customers as we work to repair the burst and return the water supply to all properties as quickly as possible.”
