A Columbarium wall put in place by Kerry County Council.

Request for Columbarium wall in Mayo cemetery

THERE is a need for a Columbarium wall in the graveyard in Castlebar as a resting place for cremated remains.

The figures for cremation are 25% at the moment and there is a need for the facility, Councillor Ger Deere told a local municipal district meeting.

He has discussed it with his colleague Councillor Michael Kilcoyne and they were looking at costs.

Councillor Deere told management that he felt there was adequate space in the cemetery to accommodate a Columbarium wall.
