Triathlon Ireland’s Mayo summer camp is back for 2022

Reserve a place for your budding triathlete at a three-day camp in Mayo this summer. It's suitable for children between seven and 14 years of age.

The camp is based on the beautiful Bertra Beach, near Westport, taking place on July 13, 14 and 15, and will be led by Triathlon Ireland with support from Mayo Local Sports Partnership.

The focus is on helping children learn the basics of triathlon – safe swimming, cycling and running – all in a fun and environment.

At the end of it all, everyone will get the chance to take part in a mini-event and a new generation of triathletes will be born.

The age groups are seven to 10 years and 11 to 14 years. The cost is €35 plus Triathlon Ireland membership (€10). The camp will take place from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. for seven- to 10-year-olds and 1.30 to 4 p.m. for 11- to 14-year-olds. Equipment needed includes: bike, helmet, wetsuit, goggles, swim hat, running attire, suncream, rain coat, small lunch, water.

If you already have a Triathlon Ireland account – and a junior account for your child (remember to register your child’s details and not your details) – you can click here for seven- to 10-year-olds and here for 11- to 14-year-olds.

If you do not have a Triathlon Ireland account or membership, you will need to create a parental account (all is explained on the booking links and triathlon web page). After that you can book your place at the Mayo summer camp.
