Westport Rugby Club elects its first woman president

HISTORY has been made at Westport Rugby Club with the election of the first woman as club president.

Liz Brady was elected to the position at the club's annual general meeting at the weekend, taking over from Andy Maxwell.

John Ryan will serve as vice-president for the year ahead.

Westport Rugby Club has extended thanks to outgoing president Andy Maxwell who took over at the start of a difficult time with the Covid pandemic and who steered the club through this time.
