Passing of former Mayo Tesco staff member Marian Lyons

The death has occurred of Marian Lyons (née Hyland), Kilmacrade, Breaffy, Castlebar, and formerly of Broadfield, Ballyvary, Castlebar.

She died peacefully at the Mayo Hospice yesterday surrounded by her loving family.

Marian was a devoted wife and mother.

She worked in the service industry for many years and more recently in Tesco for over 15 years.

She was well respected and loved by her work colleagues and the many members of the public she came into contact with during her working life.

Marian's greatest love was her family and home where she enjoyed cooking and baking.

She was predeceased by her son Tim in March, 2017, and her parents Tim and Nora Hyland (née Joyce), Broadfield, Ballyvary, Castlebar.

She will be sadly missed by her heartbroken husband Timmy, sons Anthony and Tomás, daughter-in-law Karen, grandchildren Alisha and Lucy and their mother Annette, Timia, Ada and Tadgh, brothers Tom and Tim, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, her much loved nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

Marian will repose at Kilcoyne's Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, this evening (Saturday) from 6 to 7.30 p.m.

Her funeral will arrive at St. Aloysius Church, Breaffy, Castlebar, on Sunday for Requiem Mass at 2 p.m.

Afterwards Marian will be laid to rest with her beloved son Tim in Keelogues Cemetery.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
