Bench on Westport greenway dedicated to Martin Keane

COMMUNITY man Martin Keane is being remembered with a bench dedicated to his memory along the greenway in Westport.

The bench is the central focus of a beautiful waterfall project developed for the people of Westport by volunteers from Westport Tidy Towns and members of the council, with particular mention to Paddy Murray, Pat Fahy and Elsie Higgins.

Keane's Seat will be unveiled this Friday evening at 6.30 p.m. and everyone is welcome to attend.

Sit and remember Martin at seat dedicated to his memory.

Westport Tidy Towns said Keane's Seat is the central focus of this project, a tribute to the late Martin Keane, who did so much for the people of Westport, in particular the youth.

In a social media post, they said: 'We are hoping our young people will sit on the bench as they pass and think about all the good Martin did and maybe even decide to volunteer with some of our amazing community groups.'

The bench and waterfall is located on the old railway line (greenway) on your left hand side just past the High Street railway bridge.
