Parent/toddler parking in Castlebar to be examined

THE possible provision of parent/children parking spaces in Castlebar council car parks is to be examined.

A review of parking bye-laws in the county town is starting and this proposal can be looked at as part of that.

Taxi ranks will also be part of the considerations, senior engineer Ann Sweeney told a municipal meeting where the need for parent/toddler parking was raised by Councillor Donna Sheridan.

All the private car parks have these spaces, said Councillor Sheridan, and it would be a great help if they were extended to the local authority car parks.
