The Newport Road crossing to Lough Lannagh.

Pedestrian crossing needed at Castlebar lake laneway

THE need for a pedestrian crossing on the Newport Road out of Castlebar has again been highlighted by Councillor Ger Deere.

The location where he wants to see a crossing is at the laneway that leads down to Lough Lannagh.

The castle lane sees huge volumes of people going down to the lake, he told a Castlebar Municipal District meeting.

He was told that under the active travel plan, a lot of emphasis will be placed on pedestrian crossings.
