Call on council to seek funding for Neale crossroads

SOUTH Mayo Councillor Damien Ryan is keeping The Neale crossroads on the council agenda.

He has called on Mayo County Council to ensure an application is made for the 2023 road grants for a strategic improvement grant for The Neale crossroads given the accident statistics.

In a written reply to his notice of motion before the monthly municipal district meeting, he was told a design proposal will be progressed to facilitate engagement with landowners and to estimate funding requirements.

The councillor pointed out the urgency of the issue – the junction crosses a road with 18,000 vehicle users every day.
