Restore sign for Castlebar's Gallows Hill

A LOCAL councillor wants to see the sign for Gallows Hill restored in Castlebar.

One of the most historical streets in the town, the sign is gone, Councillor Ger Deere told a local municipal district meeting. It needs to be replaced.

There is a sign for Rathbawn Road at the location, but none for Gallows Hill, which is on the left as you go out that road.

On other town signage, the councillor has again asked that a decades old signpost for Castlebar General Hospital be removed.

It looks 'terrible', he stated.
