Fly is bidding to become the Nose of Tralee.

Mayo's Fly is looking to be top dog at 'Nose of Tralee'

The ninth annual Nose of Tralee is underway and Fly, a Border Collie from Mayo, will be representing the county in the competition.

Pet Sitters Ireland are Ireland’s largest pet sitting and dog walking company and have been hosting the Nose of Tralee competition for nine years.

There are 32 finalists in the competition, one from each county, including Fly from Mayo.

"I think Fly should be 2022 Nose of Tralee because he’s such and amazing loyal dog," said owner Peadar Masterson.

"Since I got him at nine weeks old we have been inseparable. It’s true that a dog is a man’s best friend.

"Being a Border Collie obviously sheep herdering is in his genes but to see him at 10 weeks old, showing the skill and knowledge to understand what he has to do, is just amazing to see how smart this breed actually are.

"He’s a very friendly dog and just loves life to which he lives his best life with me.

"I can’t praise him enough and he would make a brilliant ambassador for the Nose of Tralee 2022 if he won.

"I’ve started to bring him to shows to which he’s won lots of prizes and got a lot of compliments, I don’t bring him to win prizes but to show off his beauty both inside and out.

"Regardless of how the voting goes he’s a winner in my eyes."

Voting is now open and will be until August 22 when the winner is chosen. It's free to vote and each person has one vote per day.
