Virtual reality at popular Mayo tourist spots

PROJECT works are ongoing in relation to two top tourism locations in west Mayo.

An augmented reality experience is being developed for the Slievemore Heritage Trail in Achill, while a virtual reality experience is also being finalised for Croagh Patrick. The Croagh Patrick 'experience' is due to be completed around now.

Works on the Slievemore Heritage Trail will continue into September, councillors were told at a municipal district meeting.

In a tourism report, they were told another key development has been the increased accessibility achieved at a number of local beaches.

Under the Disability Awareness Fund, beach wheelchairs are now available at Keel, Dugort, Old Head and Carrowniskey beaches.
