Emergency services and gardaí attended the scene of the accident on Friday afternoon and Alice was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Sligo, where she later died.

Alice reposed at McGowan's Funeral Home in Ballina last evening where a numbed community paid their respects in large numbers. The funeral will arrive to St. Muredach’s Cathedral today for Mass of the Angels at 1.30 p.m., proceeding afterwards to Leigue Cemetery, Ballina.
