No camping in Mayo's national park as orange fire warning issued

A 'No Camping' notice has issued for the Wild Nephin National Park in Ballycroy.

As temperatures continue to soar, a condition orange forest fire warning has been issued arising from weather patterns and expected level of risk.

Under its wild camping guidelines, camping in the Wild Nephin National Park is prohibited. The lighting of fires, barbecues, etc., is also prohibited in the park for the duration of the notice.

All visitors are asked to register at www.campingwildnephin.com for walking/hiking in the park.

Currently, the warning is in place until 12 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16. Further notices may be placed if that period is extended.
