East Mayo pub up for sale

A long established family-owned pub in Swinford is up for sale.

Campbell's Lounge Bar, on Main Street, will be sold at an auction on September 16.

The popular pub has been owned and operated by the Campbell family for over 65 years and was established by Pat and Nellie Campbell.

Son Liam and his wife Jackie took over ownership of the pub 30 years ago and have ran a thriving business.

They announced their decision to sell and move on with a new chapter in their lives on their social media.

A post on the pub's Facebook page said: 'Over the past 30 years, Campbell’s Lounge has provided wonderful memories for both Liam and Jackie. Hosting event nights such as Blind Date, karaoke, fancy dress, fashion shows, live bands and more.

'The business has transformed in many ways over the years from introducing a simple deli counter, to developing into evening dinner service, the addition of an off-license and even an internet café too.

'It has been a meeting point for first dates and long goodbyes, gatherings of old friends and new, a place to celebrate new births and to say goodbye to loved ones. During the Covid lockdown they even hosted the wedding reception for their daughter Katie.

'To Campbells Lounge Bar, the loyal and hard-working team behind it both past and present, the amazing customers that make Campbells what it is and the local community of Swinford, thank you for your support and the wonderful memories you have given us.'
