Accoutancy firm with Mayo office up for multiple awards

Ifac – Ireland’s farming, food and agribusiness specialist professional services firm, with an office in Mayo – has been shortlisted for six awards next month in both the Irish Accountancy Awards 2022 and the Global Payroll Awards 2022, including for Employer of the Year.

The firm is Ireland’s eighth-largest accountancy firm by turnover and largest by the number of clients. It has over 30 offices around the country, with over 450 people serving 20,000 clients nationwide, including a branch office in Balla.

The Irish Accountancy Awards recognise excellence in the sector and celebrate firms and individuals who have provided the highest quality of service and have added significant value and competitive advantage to their clients over the past year.

The winners of the awards are determined by an independent panel of recognised and expert judges, representing Ireland’s accountancy profession.

Similarly, the Global Payroll Awards 2022 recognise organisations that stand out from the crowd and exemplify the very best of leadership, teamwork and innovation.

John Donoghue, chief executive of Ifac said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for six awards and in five categories in this year’s Irish Accountancy Awards, including for Large Practice of the Year. This is a testament to the strong relationships our teams have with our clients in Mayo and throughout Ireland and our long-standing reputation for excellence; we care about the future outcome of our clients’ businesses.

“We are particularly excited to be a finalist for Employer of the Year 2022. In 1975, when we first started out looking after accounts for farmers, we set up hubs all across Ireland employing 10 to 15 people, some working from home and some office-based.

“Today, with plans to create hundreds of new flexible jobs in the regions in the years ahead – with long-term remote or blended work options – our ‘live and work in your local community’ approach, across more than 30 locations, has already been a winner for our clients and for attracting talent.

“At Ifac, we know that talent doesn't have to live in cities and this recognition for our approach and investment in our regional economy is very welcomed. Congratulations to all the well-deserving 2022 finalists.”

Ifac has been shortlisted in the following categories in the Irish Accountancy Awards 2022: Large Practice of the Year, Advisory Team of the Year, Payroll Team of the Year, Bookkeeping Team of the Year and Employer of the Year

In the Global Payroll Awards 2022, Ifac is a finalist in the Payroll Team of the Year 2022 category.

The winners will be announced at the Irish Accountancy Awards 2022 gala event, taking place on Thursday, September 1, at the Clayton Hotel, Dublin. The winners for this year's Global Payroll Awards will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday, September 22, at the Mansion House, Dublin.
