Passing of proud Mayo man who served Enterprise Ireland with distinction

The death has taken place of Jim Mongey, Sandymount, Dublin.

A native Blackfort Road, Castlebar, the deceased was a member of a popular and respected local family.

Jim was a prominent official of Enterprise Ireland for many years and served aboard with distinction in helping to attract industrial investment to Ireland over many years.

Predeceased by his brother Neil, he was beloved and cherished husband of Catriona (Jaffray) and the extremely proud father of Ronan, Conor, Hugh and Finn and their partners Johanna, Aoife and Georgina.

He is also sadly missed by his two sisters Gemma and Monica, brother Kieran, grandchildren Oisin, Alina, Ella and Cara, extended family and dear friends.

Deepest sympathy is tendered to the bereaved family on their loss.

A number of lovely tributes have been paid to him on condolences page of the death notices website, RIP.ie.

"He was passionate about his work and a consummate professional in his dedication to clients," one stated.

"Jim was a great work colleague and mentor to many throughout his An Bord Trachtala and Enterprise Ireland days.

"He was generous in sharing his knowledge and experience which we all appreciated," another tribute said.

A former colleague who worked with Jim in the Irish Embassy in Prague said: "He was a supportive, wise and empathic colleague and friend blessed with a sense of humour, amazing networking ability and a fund of anecdotes."

Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Willbrook, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14 (D14 W029), on Monday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Cremation Service will take place in Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold's Cross (D6W HY98), at 12.15 p.m. on Tuesday.
